The paranormal story of this hotel served as an inspiration for Stephen King’s movie The Shining. This hotel is haunted by founder & his wife. Along with former employees who have passed away.
2. The Place d’Armes Hotel, New Orleans.
Imagine a young girl asks you about her grandmother (no big deal), before vanishing into the thin air (bigggg deal!). Scary right? Well, this is one among the many sightings which have made this hotel earn its haunted tag.
3. Hotel Castello Della Castelluccia Rome, Italy.
This hotel has a setting which seems right out of fairy tale. It’s lavish and exquisite, but with a touch of supernatural. Guests have repeatedly reported seeing a king roaming in the hotel area. It is believed to be haunted by mad emperor Nero.

6. Karosta Prison Hotel, Karosta, Latvia.
Even with a nerve of steel, you are sure to get shaken if you spend a night at this former Nazi and Soviet military camp turned hotel. There have been sightings of women hanging herself and sound of chains echoing through the halls. To add on, each room still portrays the graffiti by the former prisoners.
7. Queen Anne Hotel, San Francisco, California.
Though spooky, this hotel’s guest from the spirit-land is known for her sweet gestures. It is haunted by the headmistress of an old school which was located inside. She makes sure that the guests are comfortable in the hotel and even tucks the cover at the middle of the night.
8. Skirrid Mountain Inn Monmouthshire, Wales.
This inn was used by the court of law to hang the convicts during Welsh Revolt. It is said that the ghost of Judge Jeffery still roams in this inn. Many have felt ropes tightening around their necks during their stay.
9. Hever Castle, Kent.
This hotel was the childhood home of the beheaded Queen – Anne Boleyn. This picturesque and luxurious hotel has many incidents of spotting of Anne’s ghost.
