Meet Luna the German Shepherd.
Luna is only a year old, and she fell from a fishing boat at the Pacific Ocean five weeks ago.
Her owner was saddened.
Luna’s owner named Nick Hayworth was a fisherman who reported that Luna was missing on February 10 near the San Clemente Island.
People thought she was dead.
Because of the accident, Luna was sadly presumed dead.
However, a miracle happened.
Surprisingly, Luna was found today by Navy officials. She was very much alive.
Luna was found on San Clemente Island.
The San Clemente Island she was located in was about 80 miles away from the coast of San Diego in California.
Apparently, Luna is a great swimmer.
Nick Hayworth noted that Luna was a powerful swimmer who could readily go to the shore.
Luna was the only domesticated animal on the island.
Navy officials noted that Luna had no other domesticated companions during the five weeks she went missing.
Nick did not receive the news clearly at first.
Luna’s owner was on a lake when he received the update. He had to move a lot just to get the message properly.
A wildlife biologist examined Luna.
According to the biologist from the San Diego Zoo, Luna was a bit undernourished but she was overall still healthy.
Luna had her own food when she was away.
