Nature is completely awesome. It makes creatures for us that are simply fascinating. Not beautiful in a traditional way but definitely fascinating. For instance, the Giant Red Leech will seriously freak you out when you see it but the more you get to know about this creature, the more you’d be interested in it.
Let’s take a look at how the Red Leech survives and more about its surroundings.
Also called as Mimobdella buettikoferi in scientific terms.
It is known to eat up its prey in one long go.
It is slow initially, but later it will be devoring its prey.
Inside the worm’s body, you will find minute crushing device like muscles which is used to crush the prey.
These muscles inside the Red leech can instantly crush the prey and kill it so that the prey can be swallowed easily.
They are usually 27 inch long worms that are found in Kinabalu Park. This region is present at a height of 3,000 meters. The Red leech only comes down during the monsoons.
